Welcome to the Mile High Party On Wheels
By Ben Owens
Whether you’re like me and you’ve taken a ride on a party bus or you’ve never been on a party bus in your life, you may think you know a thing or two about the best way to enjoy a party bus. But a party bus Denver-style is a whole other animal. Having ridden party buses all through college, I thought I was fairly familiar with the party bus protocol: pregame, ride the bus, get to the bar, party, take the bus home. Little did I know that Denver does it differently (and better) than most.
If you’re toying with the idea of a party bus Denver-style, consider this: Party buses give you access to some of the best places in Denver, transport you to all of the best breweries to tour and numerous dispensaries to visit while in town, AND allow you to consume cannabis legally. Plus, you can either join a group or make it a private party if you’re looking for something for just you and your entourage.
Party Bus Denver Tip #1
Make Stops at Famous Denver Landmarks
There are countless things to do in Denver, and you can hit some of the must-see places while on your party bus tour or private party. Whether it is a Rockies game at Coors field or spending time traversing Denver’s art scene, you’ll surely enjoy having a party bus drop you off and pick you up without the hassle of parking downtown.
Take a party bus through the posh shopping area of Cherry Creek or ride the bus out to Red Rocks for a hike in the morning or a show at night. Catching a show at Cervantes Masterpiece or Red Rocks is a must, and it’s particularly enjoyable in the conformable, party-friendly atmosphere of a party bus Denver-style.
P.S. The best “I’m in Denver” selfie spot is in front of the big glowing Denver sign on the top level of the Denver Pavilions on 16th Street Mall. Next best spot is in front of our iconic Union Station.
Party Bus Denver Tip #2
Hit Up Denver’s Breweries, Distilleries, Dispensaries, and Restaurants
While Denver is known for legal cannabis, it is also home to countless breweries, distilleries and restaurants, too. If you want to see a bit of everything without having local-level knowledge, try a tour like Buds & Beers that will guide you through both dispensaries and breweries, plus a behind-the-scenes behind the production of both cannabis and beer.
If you’re setting up a private tour of these places, make sure to hit staples like Blue Moon, Odell Brewing, and Stranahan’s, and finish your day at one of Denver’s best restaurants like Guard & Grace, Stoic & Genuine, Sushi Sa Sa, Edge or Yabby Hut (a local favorite for eat-with-your-hands, cajun-style seafood).
Party Bus Denver Tip #3
Consume Cannabis in Denver Legally
Colorado legalized cannabis, but they didn’t make it legal to smoke weed in public. If you want to light up legally, you’ll have to do it in a private residence or venue. Party buses in Denver are considered private when you book a 420-friendly option in advance. Cannabis tours and 420-friendly transportation options allow you to enjoy your favorite joints, blunts, vapes, edibles and more while riding comfortably between each stop. Plus, you won’t have to worry about finding an alley behind the bar to spark a joint or trying to drive high, both of which remain illegal under Colorado Law.
Party Bus Denver Tip #4
Make It a Private Event
Choosing a brewery or cannabis tour can be a great option if you don’t know the area and want to see the highlights and meet some new people, but if you want to enjoy your experience with a group of close friends, make it a private event by booking a private cannabis tour or party bus in Denver.
Whether it’s a bachelor/bachelorette party, birthday celebration, or a holiday event for your business, a private party bus makes sure you’re enjoying Denver with people you know in a fun, responsible setting.
The Final Hit
Even if you’ve been on a party bus in every country, you’ve yet to do a party bus like Denver does party buses. Next time you’re in the area, plan for a prearranged bus tour like Buds & Beers or book a private party of your own that’s consumption friendly and gets you front curb access to the best breweries, dispensaries and sights that Denver has to offer — without worrying about driving, parking or pesky policemen issuing tickets for drinking and smoking along the way.
